Our refrigerator works well but not great, especially when it’s above 90F (which in Texas is quite often). Even on those hot days the freezer works well, just the refrigerator section is not a cold as we would like. We decided to add a vent fan to help improve the airflow over the coils to see if that improves things. When we know more we will post and update.

RV Water Pump

We installed the new Extreme SmartSensor pump, replacing the stock Whisper King pump. The new pump can deliver up to 5.5GPM vs. the 2.0GPM of the Whisper King (see below for more). We needed some extra barb fittings and hose clamps as well as some extra tubing to install the inlet water filter inline instead of being screwed directly into the Whisper King.

Kwikee Step

We have an automatic step on our rig. When you open the door the step extends and when you close the door it retracts. There is a wall switch which when turned on leaves the step extended as long as the engine is not running (this is the “last out” mode). Well one day the last out feature failed to work, no matter what, the step would retract when the door was closed.

We replaced the stock Magnetek 6300Q series converter guts with the Parallax 7345. It was like replacing an old vacuum tube radio with a solid state unit; what a change!

Kitchen Cutting Board

While Lazy Daze installs a flip-up counter extension, we never used it much. We missed having a decent-sized cutting board that didn’t have to be pulled out of a storage cabinet. It was also a challenge prepping food to be cooked, because there wasn’t any counter space for a cutting board when the stove was in use. The flip-up extension didn’t provide a flat surface to put the cutting board on because of the subtle lip around it.
