We have begun the process of swapping out our old drawer slides for some new ones. Some of the old ones were getting pretty tired, even with a touch of grease in the tracks. Plus we wanted to explore the use of soft close slides to remove the “slam” effect and hopefully get ride of those hard to actuate spring catches.

The NO vs NC is confusing, and sometimes manufactures use the opposite nomenclature, but what can you do. To cut a long story short: If you’d like to turn something OFF when the two halves of your switch are apart, buy the NORMALLY-OPEN (NO) type; To turn something ON when the two halves are apart, buy the NORMALLY-CLOSED (NC) type. This is the textbook definition of NO and NC.

LED Lighting Basics

LED strip lights are usually arranged in numerous parallel segments each composed of a few series LEDs, thats why you can cut them to length. Joining strips together should not be a problem as long as you have the current available to drive it. Due to the way they tend to be used in an RV (simply attached directly to the 12V), you should have the current to drive them.

Fresh Water Fill Valve

Our fresh water fill valve has developed a small leak through the electrically-operated portion. The water pump cycles briefly and repeatedly unless we close the manual side of the fill valve.

Collapsible Clothesline

We make the collapsible clothesline rack from these instructions PVC Drying Rack. This hangs on the rear ladder of the coach and allows us to hang golf shirts, towels, etc for drying instead of using the dryer in the coach or at the camp store.
