Kwikee Step
We have an automatic step on our rig. When you open the door the step extends and when you close the door it retracts. There is a wall switch which when turned on leaves the step extended as long as the engine is not running (this is the “last out” mode). Well one day the last out feature failed to work, no matter what, the step would retract when the door was closed.
To fix this required us to replace the control module below the step. The replacement is straightforward and can be done in 30 minutes. The wiring is all done with quick connectors so there is no cutting or taping involved. The only word of caution is to make sure your spouse knows that you are under the step so they know NOT to open the door and accidentally extend it down on you!
